Rebuttal Time

Mr. Sullivan:  I believe the school day needs to be one hour longer.  I believe this for several reasons.

The first reason I believe this is because students will get out of school later in the day when their parents get home from work.  Right now, many kids get home before their parents and they are left unsupervised.  This is not a good situation.  Because many kids are left unsupervised they are likely to cause trouble and not do their homework.

The second reason I believe that the school day needs to be one hour longer is so that teachers can get paid more.  Teachers are constantly struggling to put food on the table because their salaries are so low.  If we work longer hours we will be paid more and will be able to afford to feed our families.

The third reason I believe it is time to lengthen the school day is because test scores show that the students of America are falling behind the students of other countries in math and science. Many of the math and science jobs here in America are going to people from other countries and that is just messed up.

With all of this said, it is clear that we need to lengthen the school day.

I am reading "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." I just finished chapter 29, I have a prediction on what will happen in the next chapter. I think that the cry from the gun shots are that some one got shot. I predict that one of the boy's got shot from the "war" that had broke out from Huck getting help. I also predict that Huck might get more help to help the men it one of them got shot. He might get the cops to help everyone. :)>

I think what will happen next will, tom will go into the cave and they will play and hang out.

My prediction of Tom Sawyer is that Ingin Joe got shot because he did not exactly want to kill the widow.

In Chapter 29 I think that Injun Joe will kill the widow Douglas.

Something had happened to Injun joe in the book and I think that injun joe had been killed by his partner so the partner would keep all the money to himself

my prediction for what happens next for chapter xxx is, since there was a gun fire and a scream that someone screamed ¨no¨ and pushed the gun that shot up in the air
